Sewing with speciality fabrics was the theme of the June Bernina Club.
Karen took the scary out of sewing with them!
The store was filled with ruffled knit models. Karen purchased a special group of ready-wear quality ruffled knit fabric. Janette turned a Kwik Sew knit top pattern into simple yet trendy fashion statements. Rheta took a readymade t-shirt and added ruffled fabric to the bottom and around the neckline for a fresh, summery look for her granddaughter.
Laminated fabric was another specialty fabric that sewed into amazing models. Cotton fabric with a laminated finish on the front is water-resistant and softer than oilcloth. Janette and Mary Ann made adorable raincoats for their grandson and granddaughter. Other projects made from laminated fabric included a bib, changing pad and special bag to organize the diaper bag. Top stitching on laminated fabric is made easy by using the #52 nonstick foot.
